612th Story on Wikipedia

The 612th Tank Destroyer Battalion thanks Brian Phelps for entering our story in the Wikipedia on-line encyclopedia.

The CO of the 395th Infantry Regiment, Lt. Col. McClernand "Mac" Butler, was married to Brian's mom's 1st cousin, Madge Grimes.  Mac was a dearly loved family member.  Brian felt his unit needed some recognition, and wrote an article about it on Wikipedia.  His article mentions the 612th's essential role in defending Hofen during the Battle of the Bulge.  Read his
